The Carlton Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is accepting applications for appointment to fill the unexpired term of SWCD Board Supervisor for District 4. Applicants must live within the Townships of: Automba, Split Rock, Kelevala, Silver, Skelton, or Moose Lake. Appointment will be made to fill the unexpired term ending December 2012. Application packets can be picked up at the SWCD office at 115 5th St. S. in Carlton (across from the Carlton Feed Mill), or can be requested by calling (218)384-3891. Applications are also available online at www.carltonswcd.org Application deadline is 4:00pm, May 5, 2009. Inquire at the SWCD office with any questions.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness. A family support group meets in Cloquet at 6:00 p.m., on the third Friday of the month, at the Outreach Center, 24 10th St.. For information, call Kevin or Carol at 218-384-9956.
