SUMMARY OF THE APPROVED PROCEEDINGS OF THE CARLTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING HELD ON MAY 12, 2009 present: Aanerud, Bodie, Brenner, Pihlman and Proulx. Absent: None Pihlman by Bodie to approve the Agenda as amended. Aanerud by Bodie to approve the Minutes of the April 27, 2009, Adjourned Board Meeting. Representatives from Sappi Fine Paper were present to provide information on construction of a new paper machine at the Cloquet Plant. Concerns were voiced regarding the policy of granting contract extensions for Timber Contracts. Pihlman by Bodie to review the current county policy with regards to the granting of timber contract extensions. A public hearing was held to discuss the issuance of an ÒOff Sale Liquor License for Big Lake Golf. Pihlman by Bodie to approve the destruction of 319 closed Income Maintenance files. Pihlman by Proulx to approve an amendment to a contract with the Minnesota Department of Humans Services. Pihlman by Bodie to approve various Foster Care and Child Care Facilities Activities. Aanerud by Bodie to approve Conditional Use Permit No. 409006. Aanerud by Pihlman to approve the changes to the Carlton County Primary Structure Ordinance. Aanerud by Pihlman to allow for the long term storage of tire chips at the Thompson Pit. Aanerud by Proulx to approve licenses for Recycling and Yard Waste Facilities. Aanerud by Pihlman to approve licenses for garbage haulers. Bodie by Aanerud to reapprove setting a Timber Auction. Pihlman by Aanerud to approve awarding Ulland Brother the CSAH 4, CSAH 22, CR 104, CR 120 and CR 139 projects. Aanerud by Bodie to seek bids for the construction of said trail from the junction of the Munger Trail in the City of Carlton to the Park and Ride location. Pihlman by Proulx to enter into a Agreement with the State of Minnesota, acting through its Minnesota Department of Corrections. Pihlman by Bodie to approve the loan out of Occupational Tax Monies to Cloquet Development Group, LLC. Aanerud by Pihlman to approve establishing a saving account at Wells Fargo Bank. Aanerud by Proulx to approve an on and off sale liquor license to Big Lake Golf. Pihlman by Bodie to approve applications for Grant-in-Aid for Snowmobile Trail Assistance. Pihlman by Aanerud to approve the appointment of Commissioner Proulx as an alternate to the Carlton County Facilities Study Committee. Pihlman by Proulx that this meeting be adjourne
