SUMMARY OF THE APPROVED PROCEEDINGS OF THE

CARLTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING

HELD ON JUNE 9, 2009

 

Present: Aanerud, Bodie, Brenner, Pihlman and Proulx. Absent: None

Philman by Bodie to approve the Agenda as amended.

Proulx by Bodie to approve the Minutes of the May 26, 2009, Adjourned Board Meeting.

Aanerud by Proulx to award the lowest bid for the collection of recyclables at the staffed sheds.

Aanerud by Proulx to award the lowest bid for bids for the collection of recyclables at the unstaffed sheds.

Aanerud by Proulx to approve Conditional Use Permit No. 409008 motion failed.

Aanerud by Pihlman to not accept the recommendation of the Carlton County Planning Commission for the approval of Conditional Use Permit No. 409008.

Aanerud by Pihlman to accept the Planning Commission recommendation and approve an extension for Conditional Use Permit No. 407005.

Aanerud by Pihlman to approve the revocation of the old Offtake Ditch Parcel right of way in the city of Barnum.

Proulx by Bodie to submit an application for Federal Justice Assistance Grant.

Pihlman by Aanerud to approve the transfer of monies in the 2009 Assessor Expenditure Budget.

Pihlman by Bodie to limit the deferred compensation vendors to those currently providing a product in Carlton County.

Pihlman by Bodie to approve the Carlton County Tourism Grant Guidelines.

Pihlman by Bodie to approve the allocation of $10,000 (from the Economic Development Fund) for the establishment of a Tourism Grant Pilot Project.

Pihlman by Proulx to agree that neither Section 8.1 nor Section 9.1 of said Loan/development Agreement shall be construed to prohibit the making of a loan by Carlton County to 14th Street Apartments.

Pihlman by Bodie to approve the loan to Cloquet Motors.

Aanerud by Bodie approve an appointment to the Carlton County Economic Development Advisory Committee.

Aanerud by Bodie to adjust the Wrenshall Community Development Corporation allocation.

Bodie by Proulx to request the State of Minnesota include the proposed Carlton County Community Services Building Project in the 2010 State Bonding Legislation.

Bodie by Proulx to request the State of Minnesota include the proposed Willard Munger Trail Connection Project in the 2010 State Bonding Legislation.

Aanerud by Proulx to set the annual Carlton County Unorganized Township Meeting.

Pihlman by Aanerud that this meeting be adjourned.

Barnum Kinder-Camp

Barnum school is offering a three day mini-camp for children entering kindergarten this fall. August 3rd - 5th from 9 to 11 a.m. at the elementary school.  Instructors will be Kindergarten teachers.  Pre-registration is necessary.
