Written by Lynsey Hagen

Lynsey Hagen and Maggie Ackerson sang and the community responded with donations that provided the funds for them to attend St. Olaf’s Music Camp.  The singing duo spent one week at camp this past June.  They both stated that music camp was fantastic and wanted to share a brief description of their experience.

THANK YOU everyone who supported Lynsey and me in our fundraising efforts for the St. Olaf’s Music Camp.  It was the most wonderful experience, and I will never forget it.  At camp, I learned so much about technique, types of music, how music works, and much more.  It was because of your community support that we were able to attend.  I cannot thank you enough for helping me get to this camp, and I will be forever grateful.

Sincerely, Maggie Ackerson

First I would like to thank the community members that supported Maggie and I in our music camp adventure. It truly is wonderful that our town is so supportive of the Arts. I would also like to thank… Miss Palazoloo, Robin Rice, Miss Lyons, Miss DeYoung, Mary Rose Varo, Anita Moonen, Mrs. Dorshner, Becky Pemberton, Jackie Vogt, Vicki Radzak and my family. Without them I would not love music and the stage as I do today.

The music program Maggie and I participated in was an amazing experience. We had the opportunity to take classes in areas of music that are not offered in school. One of the classes I really enjoyed was Music Theory. I was taught to think about music differently and I now understand why music theory is so important and want to learn even more.

Again I would like to thank the community! It was a remarkable week of learning and I am grateful for the opportunity.

Sincerely, Lynsey Hagen
