Poetry Contest

A $1,000 grand prize is being offered in a Free Poetry Contest, sponsored by Christian Fine Arts Society. Everyone is welcome to enter and compete for 25 prizes in all totaling $5,000.

To enter, send one poem of 21 lines or less to Free Poetry Contest, 7308 Heritage Dr., Mt. Vernon, In 47620. Your poem may be written on any subject, using any style.

Deadline for entering is Oct. 25. You may also enter online at www.freecontest.com.

A winner’s list will be sent to all entrants.

“We sponsor this contest once a year,” says Contest Director Rev. Elton Richards. “It is our way of helping Poetry, the Cinderella of the Arts, find her glass slipper.”

Cloquet Support Group

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness. A family support group meets in Cloquet at 6:00 p.m., on the third Friday of the month, at the Outreach Center, 24 10th St.. For information, call Kevin or Carol at 218-384-9956.
