Barnum fares well in big school tournament

Information was recently received that Barnum fared fairly well in a big school tournament at Duluth East on Sat., Oct 3. Single A Barnum came home with six wins out of 12 games played against bigger schools.

Some of the highlights in the e-mail included the following information: The first two games were against Duluth East. Barnum lost 25-16 and 25-17. Katrina Newman was limited to three kills, but fired 13 aces. Jenna Zmyslony also had three kills and added four aces and a set assist. Jessica Newman had eight set assists and two aces. Karianna Duesler fired six aces. Sammi Parker and Candice Paulson each had a pair of attacks and Jaimee Wickstrom added two aces.The next pair was against Washburn, Minnesota. Barnum lost 25-14 and 25-10. Kat cranked out 9 kills two aces and Jess served up 13 assists and a pair of aces. Candice had a good couple of games as she had two attacks, a kill and seven set assists. Sammi had an attack, a kill and three assists. Jenna had three kills and two aces. Jaimee had a kill and two aces. Karianna added two aces.

Barnum went three games for a win over Anoka. The game scores were 25-22, 19-25 and 18-16. Katrina had 12 kills, nine aces and one set assist. Jess had 21 set assists and six ace serves. Sammi had two attacks and a set assist. Jaimee two kills and a set assist. Jenna had four kills, two set asists and 11 aces. Candice had four attacks and six set assists. Karianna had a set assist and three aces.

The Bombers also played Washburn, Wisconsin, but lost 25-17 and 25-15. Kat had seven kills and two aces. Jess had a kill and eight assists and three aces. Sammi had two attacks and an ace. Jaimee had an ace. Jenna added a kill, an assist and five aces. Karianna had five aces. Candice had an ace.
