John BonnerJohn Thomas Bonner, 74, of Finlayson, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 in Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. He was born March 30, 1935 in Denver, CO to John and Eleanor (Mae) Bonner. John a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. John moved from the Twin Cities to Finlayson upon his retirement. He enjoyed bird watching, hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.

John is preceded in death by his parents.

John is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Bonner of Austin, TX; son, Nelson (Liisa) Bonner of Seattle, WA; 2 grandchildren, Mitchell and Eleanor Bonner; sister, Mary Johnson of Shoreview; 2 nephews, Jeff and Eric Johnson; very special friends, Greg and Dee Koivisto of Finlayson.

At John’s request, no services will be held.

Arrangements are with Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness.  A family support group meets in Cloquet at 6:00 p.m., on the third Friday of the month, at the Outreach Center, 24 10th St..  For information, call Kevin or Carol at 218-384-9956.
