Rebels lose opener on road to Rush City

The Moose Lake-Willow River boys basketball team lost its opener on the orad against Rush City. The score on Tues., Dec. 8 was 64-53.

No further details were posted.

Bombers beat Bulldogs

The Bombers beat the Bulldogs 83-44 in Barnum’s home opener on Tues., Dec. 8. The Bombers hit six three-pointers in the game and put four players in double figures.

Taylor Carlson was the high scorer with 16 points. Nick White was right behind with 15 points, including one three-pointer. Justin Newman had 12 points, including two threes. Newman supplied seven assists. Bobby Minkkinen also had 12 points. Jacob Naslund had eight points, including two threes. Josh Hogan had seven points, but added eight assists. Andrew Youngren also had seven points. Hector Chavez hit one three-pointer. Luke Chalberg added a bucket and Danny Warpula hit a free throw.

Barnum defeats Hunters

The Barnum Bombers hosted and defeated the Duluth Denfeld Hunters by a score of 55-52 on Sat., Dec. 12. Although the Hunters were led by Race Leonard’s 22 points, including 4 three-pointers, the Bombers had better balance in the scorebook for the slim three-point margin. The Hunters hit seven threes while the Bombers hit three long ones in the game.

Nick White led the way with 16 points, including one tree-pointer. Justin Newman, with three three-pointers, scored 14 points. Taylor Carlson was the third Bomber to reach double figures as he had 10 points. Josh Hogan had eight points, including one three. Bobby Minkkinen’s five points included one thre-pointer. Andrew Youngren added two points for the 2-0 Bombers.

Leonard was the only players to hit double figures for the Hunters.

Barnum Kinder-Camp

Barnum school is offering a three day mini-camp for children entering kindergarten this fall. August 3rd - 5th from 9 to 11 a.m. at the elementary school. Instructors will be Kindergarten teachers.
